I'm on Jag lovers....Very good tech advice. Online manuals are very handy.
But as a forum it's probably the worst BBS I have ever seen!! Can take over 5mins for a post to appear
Beware that some of the users are from the US, which gives interesting language barriers in terms of tech talk. And also that in the US jags have different specs and are lower powered

Scooby Regular
As I have a '92 Sovereign 4.0 I'm well acquainted with Jag-lovers . The forums are really a mailing list with a forum front end hence the delay in fresh posts.
Apart from that there is very little, the Jaguar Enthusiasts' Club (http://www.jec.org.uk/) has a members only forum, but it's not as nice to use as Scoobynet et al.

Try this :
Hi Up_North,
Try www.jagtalk.com
You have to register but it is far the best Jaguar Forum. Not a patch on the scoobynet forums though ...
If you are thinking seriously about the S-Type R look at the following :
The ZF gearbox - some cars have a slight lurch as you come gently to rest, or/and lurch as they grab 1st gear when you slow to a rolling halt then accelerate away gently .. (I've found other Jaguar owners on the net with this problem and am I presently "discussing" this with Jaguar ... )
If the car has the Sat Nav system then it might have the Air-Con glitch in which it can lock up the system. There is a software update for this that will fix it - may not be in every dealer yet.
There may be a squeaking sound coming from the steering coloumn - this is a known fault and can be fixed under warranty with a steering rack change
All S-Type Rs have a 3 year warranty and free servicing.
Other than those problems, no real faults ... it is a POWERFUL car, good seats, with good Brembo brakes and the Jaguar image.
Nowhere near the chuckability and liveliness of a Subaru ... but a powerful brute in a smooth suit.
