I have noticed a growing number of boy racer Burberry cap wearing type r drivers. I used to like type r's and want one but I feel now there image has been tarnished. Honda must be doing a free insurance deal on them or something I think they have the potential to be the new Saxo chav car.

I'm not sure I agree! I think there are more classic Impreza owners that fall into that catergory than Civic Type-R drivers!

The Civics are relatively cheap to buy new, reasonable performance out of the box and cheaper insurance compared to an Impreza. The only thing I don't understand is why people like the looks, when 'obviously' it looks like a mini people carrier!

I've never seen a chav driving a CTR round my way, although I did see a fairly hot girl driving a silver one this morning!!

On the other hand, I probably see at least a couple of classic scoobs a day - with a chav behind the wheel!!

Matt Turbo 2000, I'm sure DW would drive a Kia if it performed...FFS 10 years ago no one (well hardly anyone) would seriously consider the Impreza when they were thinking about having a car with any kind of Kudos. Hell, I drive a Porsche but can still lower myself to drive the Scooby from time to time

I am not having a go at anyone I am just stating a fact thats all. Image does mean a lot to me when buying a car I admit it and before you say it I am not a snob far from it.

The point I am making is some cars attract chav's to buy them and I can just see a slow progression towards the CTR I have seen at least 10 this week all black with tinted windows and chav's driving. I would rather go for a Integra more rare and looks 10 times better.

I wear caps as well and am only 23 but you wouldnt catch me dead in a burberry cap no chance.

no thier not, but it doesn't seem to matter to most of the "considrably better than me brigade", because I wear a cap I'm a chav regardless of the style colour or cut.
I have two capsi mainly wear, not a stich of burberry on either but I am still a chav.

Burberry caps are footie hardcore wear and have only been recently linked with chav's- loads of my Bluenose mates have worn these caps for years now, I certainly wouldnt be takin the p*ss out of them either

I drove my mother's Astra for a year after i passed my test before going on to own 2 Nova SRs. I'm sure if i'd been a bit younger then i would have missed the Nova years and had a Saxo VTR - So ******* what????????????????????

Lets be honest, none of us want to be linked with the scum of the earth. Pick your cars wisely, or risk being the envy of the Nike shocks shoe wearing crew, which is a major no no.
Hondas are mainly for asian rude boys to be honest, im asain and it really puts me off buying a honda. I see 'them' listening to bangra and R'N'B and just think the t*ats.

I wasnt talking about bog standard astras I am talking about the modded fox alloys ice cream tub bodykit brigade that you see round. Sorry you wouldnt catch me in an astra there are plenty of other cheap cars I would have i.e. a fiesta.

I wasnt posting this topic to get a reaction I was just after a simple yes I agree or no I dont. So what if I care about image does it bother you that much that I would buy a car on it's image as well as its ability on the road. When I started driving people were buying novas but I couldnt stand them same old rubbish everytime.

Scoobynet is a fab place but the " everyone elses car is ****" snobbery is getting a bit tedious from many scooby owners.

This is probably the most stupid and pointless thread I have ever read on here.

This is a site for performance orientated car drivers, ok, it's nice if you can get a good looking car with some kudos, that isn't parked in every car park. But I would be well happy with the awd skoda, and i am sure most people would take the ****, you certinly wouldnt get the girls, but I don't give a ****, if it's fast, reliable and handles well that's the most important thing for me.

I have never seen chav's in CTR's, seen a few boyracers with stickers all over them, but what car doesn't get molestered by dickwads?

I think what you're trying to say is that the CTR is getting very popular and you see loads around, SO what? That's cause it's one of the best all around hot hatches on the market, not just in the driving stakes (which it rates very highly) but also in build quality and realiabilty for the money.

Depends whether you drive a car to enhance your social status and pull girls or to have fun and / or get places. I don't need a car to enhance my social status or pull girls, I can do that on the bus! When I am out in some country road rinigng it's neck no one is watching!
