Audi RS4...WOW!!
This must be the fastest car I have evr seen.......had a little tussle with one in an M3..and the way the RS4 moved was obscene!!
444bhp, amazing handling and chuckability...huge grunt........Ive seen evos/scoobies/skylines etc, but nothing with this amount of instantly accessible low down grunt. Looks cool too....
How come no one goes on about these......they are pricey but then so are cars like M3's......RS4 must be superior?

Have u seen a RS6? well just around the corner from me there used to me a house that had 3 Impreza turbos, one silver standard and one blue one that had gold alloys and a sti spoiler. now they only have the ble scoob, but insead of the sliver scxoob they now have an RS6 that cost brand new £58,875 -
Powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine with 450bhp, refined by a new adaptive Dynamic Ride Control system and safely contained by quattro four-wheel-drive, the new Audi RS 6 quattro will combine rapidity with responsibility. The 0-62mph sprint can be covered in just 4.7 seconds (Avant 4.9 seconds), and 124mph can be achieved in an even more impressive 17.6 seconds (Avant 17.8 seconds). Top speed is electronically limited to 155mph.
The new Audi RS 6 quattro also features an unprecedented level of standard equipment. An Alcantara headlining and either carbon fibre or wood trim complement heated and leather upholstered Recaro sports seats, from which occupants can control a premium quality Bose sound system with CD autochanger and a standard fit satellite navigation system incorporating a television. Formula 1-style shift controls mounted on the perforated leather sports steering wheel allow the driver rapid access to the five ‘manual’ gears offered by the standard five-speed tiptronic automatic transmission, and parking is simplified by the standard front and rear Acoustic Parking System.
The only high performance saloon and estate models in their class to offer the major safety advantage of quattro four-wheel-drive have entered new realms of ride comfort and handling composure thanks to Dynamic Ride Control. The electronically governed, mechanical damping system monitors road conditions and cornering forces and continually adjusts the suspension characteristics to maintain exceptional balance in all situations, whilst maintaining a supple ride.
This outstanding control extends to braking, which is handled by race-honed, 8-piston front ventilated discs and single piston ventilated rear discs, backed by ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD).
and now there is a new RS6 version called RS6 plus with more power 30bhp be exact!
The RS4 on the other hand
3.0L twin turbo V6 and 381BHP
and 324Torque lb-ft
0-60 in 4.9 sec
and a toip speed of 152MPH
and i think the cost about £40Kish
hope this helps

Surely the RS4 will top out at a limited 155mph too... IIRC the speedo has an indicated 200mph on it, and although I'm not saying that it would do this... What would be the point if it could only pull 152?! lol
I thought the Quattro V6 N/A models were all circa 150mph from around 200bhp!!
Cheers,
Grant

RS6 is a storming road car but is not as quick round a track as a RS4. My S4 is as fast as an RS4 (400BHP & 470lb/ft).

RS 6 is a storming car - Im working for VW at the moment - Weve just had an ex fleet rs6 go through auction at silly money (think it was an '03 and it went for 37K) - wish my piggy bank had a few more pennies in at the time.
The 'S' and 'RS' Audis are complete brutes.

Mate of mine has had one for 6 months, hes trading it as it's been nothing but trouble. Doesn't help the Audi garage scraped it and it was in fo rbodywork repairs for ages.
So hes writing a stroppy letter to Audi and getting rid, although they did lend him a brand new A8 4.2 whilst they were fixing it

The audi customer care is very good. Not that you will need it as they are bulletproof.
I mean, the bog standard audies are fast and well built so you just know that these are going to go like **** off a shovel. whoa. its a beaut of a car.

The old porche-developed RS2 doesn't have a limiter - 170+, I think is correct. There's not many about though, and they're all left hand drive Would that put you off I think not
I think the RS estates look nicer though. I saw an RS6 saloon in a showroom the other day, & it didn't look quite as meaningful as the estate

I like the fact that the RS4 only comes as an estate - somehow it suits it. It also makes it even funnier when people realise they've been toasted by an estate Certainly up there in my fantasy garage

I thought AUDI has replaced the 2.7TT for a larger block V8 based ?

I drove and RS6 around a rather famous proving ground a few weeks ago and found it quite uninspiring. Power delivery is so smooth that you don't realise quite how quickly it accelerates (it's about the same as an FQ300 evo to 120 and then pulls away nicely), handling and brakes were okay but you can tell that it's a bit of a tank. Wouldn't mind trying an RS4 out though, might be more my cup of tea. J

Audi is well known for its POOR customer service, its a simple fact. Sorry.
Re bullet proof... ever heard of the RS4 bendy wheel problem?
The RS4 is a good car and its fast. HOWEVER it is a pretty damn uninspiring drive... Understeers like a biatch. The RS6 to come (i.e. based in the just launched A6) looks like a corker, it no longer has the engine overhanging the front wheels for a start!

Skiitles,
Oh my god you are so right !
I currently drive an A4 Cab 3.0 Sport, and all I can say about the service I have received from Audi, is it's CRAP.
After having 2 new scoobys, I made the change to the Audi. In three years of scooby ownership, I never had a single complaint.
For anybody out there "DO NOT BUY AN AUDI".
The sales departments are an absolute joke, the service departments rip you off at every given oportunity, and finally the cars quality is not all its cracked up to be. I have had more bits break or stop working in 6 months of ownership, than I had in 3 years of scooby ownership.
All just my opinion
Darren

Had an RS4 which had MTM Stage 3 (458bhp), Quattro suspension and Movit brakes. One of the best allround cars I have ever owned. Could keep up with a 996 Turbo yet carry 5 people and luggage!!! Steering not as precise as BMW and in standard form suspension and gear change are not great.

Not being funny but i would never think about paying that sort of money for an Audi
If I had that kind of cash I would buy a T25 and throw money at the engine (not literally ) and good night all

Skittles,
You are quite right again, I too had heard that the A4 Cab was well put together. How wrong could I be. I honestly think that Audi are trading on the name alone, and that the so called Audi quality is a thing of the past.
Red Wrex,
Answer me this, have you ever been in a well sorted RS4 ?
I have, and the car in question was producing over 600bhp !
I too have driven / been driven in almost all Impreza's (excluding T25), and believe me when I say, that a well sorted Scooby will not get anywhere near a well sorted RS4.
Only problem is they cost a fortune, so I suppose you cannot compare the two.
Cheers

P.s,
Did any of you guys / girls see the Gumball rally, where the guy in the new Lambo stated " I saw this RS4 come up behind me, then overtake me" someone else asked why he let him go past then finally leave him behind, to which he commented " Do you think I wanted him to leave me behind, I could not catch the bloody thing !"
Says it all really.

Hi
We have an AMD prepared RS4 which has had the suspension sorted, engine remapped and chipped to 440 bhp (+ Milltek exhaust), quick shift installed and gmbh brakes/discs put on so that you can also stop in a hurry!!! I really love our RS4 and constantly have a huge smile on my face when I drive it. Mr Mog and I recently test-drove an RS6 and were both very disappointed with both performance and handling (a boat springs to mind) although it did sound very agressive. There is no way I would swop my RS4 for an RS6, however RS6 owners would probably say the opposite. Everyone likes a different drive, we previously had a P1 which was different again and manic round that lanes - but build quality was awful for the money. I honestly don't know what I would swop the RS4 for as it provides performance, space and rarity in one package.
