New Car for wife- need advice on import V Uk cars
buying a 307SW for Mrs Tiggs.
i can get a brand new unregistered one for 13.5k or a 2003 car with 6k on it for 13k.
anything i should consider about an import as the 2004 car sounds better value....am i missing something?
T
edit to add that the 13.5k 2004 car is imported.

Go for the new one. We have a European-import 206CC -- comes with 2 years pan-European warranty, and the service book is in English (unlike when you buy an import Scoob).
I don't know where the 307s are made, but it's possible they're from Coventry. All non-CC 206s are made in Coventry (CCs are made in Mullhouse, France).

For what it's worth, Motorpoint in Derby (www.motorpoint.co.uk) have some pre-registered, delivery-miles only 307 SWs.
A 1.6 petrol 7 seater with aircon is £11K. Diesels are more expensive but under £12K for a new HDi 90 IIRC.
Edited to add that Virgin Cars are also doing the SWs, some are quite a bit cheaper than the price you've been quoted.
Been looking for new wheels for the wife myself (my wife, not yours ) so I've been researching ...

The price of options varies greatly. When we bought the CC (£13.5k instead of £17k UK list) the UK dealer wanted 300 quid for black paint and 750 quid for leather. The French dealer wanted the equivalent of 50 quid for black paint and 300 quid for leather
Edit: Tiggs, make sure you're the first owner on the logbook. You'll also probably need the original purchase receipt when you take it to the dealer to be serviced.

No hassle at all. That's how I bought the Scoob as well. Combined it with a booze cruise.
Although my understanding is that with the current strength of the Euro against the pound, the savings aren't what they used to be (imported the CC in Dec '02).
