A4 TDi chipped up..............
What Bhp can you realistically expect from an Audi A4 1.9TDi when chipped up?
A bloke at my old man's work claims his is 220bhp but i smell a rat

Depends on which version of the 1.9 he has. I think maximum standard 1.9 the audis has is 130bhp (as opposed to VW's 150bhp) the 150bhp A4's have the 2.5 V6tdi IIRC
So if it's a 130 then the most you'll get with just chipping is about 185-195bhp by having a proper remap (as opposed to plug and play boxes etc.) So I reckon there is definetly a rat up his tail pipe somewhere.
You can get more, but I would think you would need a bigger intercooler at the very least.

There are guys will mapped PD130 vw/audis to around 200bhp although it makes them a little rough.
The oettinger remap gives about 170ish break and nearly 300lbft and still feels totally OEM
You cant argue with something that has 300lbft and also put out 45mpg!!!!!!!!!

IS revo best for the remap? Just had mine fer a month now and very impressed with it as a sensible family saloon!! sold the impreza to get it , don't regret it though.......i don't think!! much nicer inside for the long journeys.....wish i could afford the S4 for the best of both worlds!!

Opinion on the VW boards like www.uk-mkivs.net is pretty evenly divided between Revo and Jabbasport as the best upgrade.
Some Revo'd PD130 and PD150 users have recently had minor issues with check engine lights etc, which doesn't seem to happen with Jabba.
Revo is "one-map-fits-all", whereas Jabba do custom maps, and dial it in for you on a before-and-after rolling road session. Jabba's about £100 cheaper IIRC.
Either way, 180bhp and 300lb-ft seems to be the max reliable output. Some have had maps which give 320lb-ft+ but clutch slip follows pretty quickly
