Thought I'd see if they were as much fun as I remembered....and they are! It's got a Kent High lift cam, Koni adjustables and Tarrox brakes.
I'm taking it to Goodwood next week so we'll see how it performs on the track.

Enjoy!!
I've still got mine that I originally had as a company car 15 years ago (no way I could have afforded the insurance then so that was a stroke of luck)! Still brings a big smile to my face every time I drive if. It's completely different to my STi3 and I love to drive both depending on my mood. I kept it to keep the miles off the scooby but that's not quite working!
Perhaps a MI16 conversion is called for........

Madmoog .....
My local dealer sold 5 Guttman GTi's back in 1991 ..... They were basically 1.9's with a few Gutmann parts attached from new ..... From memory the parts are
Gutmann lightweight alloys
Gutmann Koni adjustable lowered suspension
Gutmann exhaust
Gut .....rear black lights
Gut......front twin headlights
Gut......roof spoiler
Nardi suede steering wheel
Gut.....full leather, embossed seats
De-badged, no rear relector thing
No red side strips
No 205 GTi side or rear badges
Think thats about it but cant remember .......
Engine wasnt the 16V jobby that Gutmann used to make, but it has a highlift Cam again from new.
All for the grand total of £18,300 from memory.....
The dealer still has the first one in his garage at home. It has 1,000 miles on the clock and he will never sell it ....
Oh and they were all Sorentto green ....
Mine is now stripped and caged and used on the track most of the time

Gutmann,
In 93/4 I used to have one of the original Sorrento Green 1.9's from 1990 with the full grey leather and power steering. Beuautiful car, but got nicked and stripped, found on a golf course in Bedford. A crying shame, an amazing colour.

Your right mate they are great cars and there are still alot of them around and about ..not in Sorentto though.. If you look hard enough you can still find un-molested ones too.
Mine has every receipt, MOT, service etc etc .... even down to every tyre it has ever had on it. Felt a bit guilty when i stripped it to be honest ...

Hope I'm still a member
I may get one now that my insurance co will cover me for £170
I still miss my 309 on occasions... Always wanted a 205 or 309 GTI, but could never justify the cost when I was younger.
There's a Guttman 205 in the work carpark. Unfortunately it's been a bit blinged
And there's a 309 Goodwood that is looking very unloved. I may try to trace the owner...
BTW, it looks a well cared for 205. Hope you enjoy it!
