Default Want to trade in Peugeot 206 for something similar....

The misses currently has a Peugeot 206 1.1LX. Its coming up to 3 years old now and she's thinking of buying another one, but brand new. Her current car is in sapphire blue with A/C elec windows/mirrors CD playe and power steering. Good spec for the engine size.
So far we have looked at another 206 (1.1S), a Yaris T3 1.0, and a Citroen C2. We hope to be testdriving some of these tomorrow. Anyone got one or suggest similar.
I know most will say "it depends what your needs are" etc etc. She very rarely has more than 1 passenger but wants to keep insurance low and has a budget below 10k. She also wants the car to look good (colour!).

Just thought some of you/your partners may have same or similar. What would you go for?

One of the earlier 206 CCs should set you back <£10k. Could get a 1.6 if insurance is an issue. Or are you only interested in new cars?

Get a Mini One. £10400 new. Best handling, best residuals by miles, £100 for 5 years servicing. A no brainer really.

Well obviously I don't know her circumstances, but my wife's CC (2.0) costs £430 a year to insure which seems pretty good to me. Bought it new from France for £13,500 so you could probably get a 1.6 for £10-11k. Of course, the exchange rate has gone through the floor now, so maybe you couldn't

Mini is out of her price range. + you pay for all the extras.

She took the plunge this afternoon.

Brand new 206 S in ageon blue. Looks same colour as my car (sonic).
She got CD elec mirrors/windows air con. Seats are similar to those in GTi.
She's not into EVOness so handling etc doesn't bother her. As long as it looks nice, thats all she cares about. We got the Scoob to play about in!

Just a personal opinion, but buying a new car every three years (particularly any sort of European supermini) is a very expensive way of motoring.

I know it's too late, but I just thought of another one. IIRC the Fiat Barchetta is available for £10,495. In fact, Fiat are pretty desparate to sell cars so you could probably negotiate a deal...
