Xantia TD's - any good?
Xantia TD's seem to be cheaper than the equivalent aged Mondeo's / Vectra's P406's.
Looking for a cheapo (£2k) TD - are Xantia's worth a look, or should I avoid like the plague?

Well, I'm on my second but I won't recommend them to anybody: dear insurance, dear suspension parts if/when it conks out, and later models suffered from ovality in the fuel tank sender entry.........which Citroen know about, but won't fix unless you've had every service done by a Citroen dealer.
My 2.0 Hdi is group 13, compared to a 307, or a 206 with the same engine/gearbox in group 6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Personally, I'll never own another Citroen, let alone a Xantia.

I've owned two both had done over 140000miles,excellent cars, economical ,comfortable and reasonably quiet and smooth.Just make sure hydrolics are ok ,ie car goes up and down on moving lever and no leaks, cambelt changes have been done and clutch has plenty of bite as they are quite expensive to do.
