Only debate is financial. I currently drive a 993 C4 which is my only car. If I stretch to a 355, I will also have to buy a normal everyday car . That is the debate.
But I must own a Ferrari 355 or 360 at some point in my life and fit a Tubi exhaust system.
Sounds like an F1 car!

Just as a side note, try liverpool victoria for insurance.
I was quoted £1000 for a 360F1 where others wanted 3500-4000. The problem was that I had not owned one before. LV didn't care.
Their online guide is pretty accurate too.
There is a thread about 355s on the F-Chat site at the moment. There are some helpful chaps over there and you don't get all the 'noise' either ....

Sorry to ressurect a slightly old thread, but you're right - you can't use a 355 everyday (well you can, but you'd spoil the experience, and probably the car too).
As for insurance, mine costs me less than my Fiat Coupe. Go figure
Also - don't bother with the Ferrari owners club. I found it is full of self important types who are as much into the image of ownership as much as the car itself. I visited AutoItalia at Stanford Hall last year, was ushered through to the central parking area and almost caused heart failure when I got out wearing scruffy jeans, trainers and a T shirt. Most others had shirt & ties Was I bothered? Locked up and walked straight over to the Fiat Coupe parking area and had a beer and a butty

Nigel,
Thats why you need a nice classic Maserati, instead of one of those new fangled Ferrari thingies.
Maserati Club is a far more relaxed affair where it doesn't matter if you turn up in a Bi-Turbo or own a 250F Grand Prix car, never felt underdressed in shorts and t-shirt either.
Oh and I wouldn't swap the exhaust note of my Bora for that of a 355/360 for anything B)

LOL @ Robin, but you're probably right.
The Maser 3200GTs I had for the first four weeks of 355 ownership (it had to go straight back the day after I picked it up!!) sounded gorgeous. "proper" V8 noise.
Rest of the car was a bit dubious, (esp the thrttle) but the engine is a masterpiece.
Maserati owners are probably less snobbish simply because the car isn't as heavily associated with wealth like Ferraris. I don't like the broad assumption that to own a Fezza you've got to be loaded. I'm just an ordinary 42 year old that lives in an ordinary 3-bed semi, with an ordinary mortgage and an extraordinary taste in cars. I just got lucky with a business venture and indulged in my only real vice. Many Ferrari owners are the same (ie ordinary) but they like the world to think they're someone special. I really don't give a **** what anyone thinks, I just like to drive it!

Just for info, my head eventually overruled my heart and I have decided against the 355 (much as I adore them).
Am now hunting for a factory upgraded 993 Twin Turbo, which, like my current C4 I can use all the time.
If anyone knows of a good one, just shout!
