Question

Are there any Vectra sized cars that will do 40mpg on petrol? Otherwise I think it may have to be a turbo diesel.

Talking cars worth about £3 - £4k. Are Octavia diesels any good? Not sure how good Lagunas, Mondeos, Passats and Vectras would be for that sort of money.

I'm thinking about opting out of my company scheme and getting something that's pretty good on the juice. Current car is a 2001 2.0 petrol Passat. Average 30mpg, though I have a heavy right foot.

Any suggestions?
