My mate got his FQ300 upgraded today (to 330) and took me out for a spin, he was well impressed (so was I----mega quick !!). Unfortunately a saxo VTS pulled alongside him on a dual carriageway who all peered at his car, my mate was in 4th at about 3000 revs, waved goodbye at them and smashed the accelerator………….half a second later the thing cuts out with a shunt and the saxo is away !!
To say he was gutted is an understatement, we pulled up at the traffic lights next to them and saxo boy says “Yeah thought it was a vectra !” so if you see it on a saxo forum……..it’s true !!!!
He has since found out this is a common problem with fuel cut, can anyone confirm?!!?

Yer my evo used to fuel cut quite alot, mainly in the colder months tho.. The performance vairies lots depend on outside temprature on evos..Anyway, if hes had all these mods done by a proper garage, they should have upgraded the fuel pump and maybe fuel lines as well.. This could be the main problem for a fuel cut.

Try checking the intercooler pipework, has been known for dealers to leave jubilee clips untightened during the upgrade. A number of FQ's have covered a few miles, from the dealer then conked out in the manor described above, due to the pipework blowing off.

they should sort it out but if not just get an uprated pump £100 or a fuel comp £200-£400.
