Ok,So my missus woke me up this mornin as she had her car booked in for an mot.Now i knew it would'nt pass coz the exhaust had just started blowin but could'nt fix any gum gum round it b4 we went out as i had the biggest hangover from a session last nite. Now as you get a free retest within so many day i said,"just take it in and ill fix what needs doin tomorro".So in it goes and sure enough when the chap at the garage phones up to say it was ready it failed! At this point i was in bed (sleepin it off)and the missus got a lift to pick the car up.

Right, she's not long come back after doin a bit of shoppin and tells me that she's booked the bloody car in for the repairs.
It failed on two things,...........
HEADLAMPS,Off side headlight,poor beam pattern.
EXHAUST,Front downpipe leaking.
The car is a 1998 Fiat Punto, and my Question is,How much would you expect to b quoted on the repairs?....guess how much she said?....

Talking

Manifold gasket say £10 ish. Plus 2 hours to fit at about £60 + VAT

Headlight about £100 plus hour to fit.

so £290 ish?

If its a complete manifold add another £100 on top. Plus VAT of course

£9.99 for adjusting the headlights? I've never had an mot yet where they haven't done it there and then for free. (when it's been neeeded that is)
