Are supra's any good?

My uncle is after a mark3 toyota 3.0i supra, non turbo and is wondering if these vehicles had any common faults. If you has owned one or know someone with one (praising the car or an occured fault) please post a message. It would be well appreciated.

I had a mk3 n/a Supra and now have a mk3 turbo Supra. Bombproof and easy to look after. Not novice drive but all weather cars for experienced owners. Parts not that expensive either, n/a waterpump £120 plus vat.

Nice cars, looked at one before I bought my 200sx, but I wanted a more subtle car and it was cheaper so meh.
Personally I dont like any of the bodykits that I see. the car looks nice as standard without a huge(er) wing plonked on the back.
Still want one, but I would be worried about leaving it anywhere.

I have no probs at all leaving my MKIV anywhere, most people have so much more respect for it than my old impreza, its a much better ownership experience! Plus on the motorway cars just pull out of your way!

Hi
I owned a Mk3 turbo manual and the only common problems I encountered was clutch judder and a head gasket problem on no 6 cylinder. I think the head gasket problem is quite common so watch out for it.

PS. This thread is not just about MK3 supras. A supra is a supra whether it's a Mk1/mk2/mk3/mk4
Scoob owners don't mind if you have a classic/bugly/fugly, so why should we. This kind of attitude makes SN not a nice place to be despite all the good effort by the mods and the rest of the users.

More fool them then mate eh?
And yeah - I totally agree with you, a Supra is a Supra, regardless of Mk. The Mk2 is a damn cool motor too, considering when it was designed

Superiority complexes like that is the reason why I don't listen to him and his pollava.
Redkop and any other mods, delete or modify my post if you want to, I made my point and used my right for free speech with facts to support it.

That's fine, but that doesn't change the fact that he implied in another supra thread that MK3s are not "real cars", and that myself - a MK3 owner wishes he had a MK4.
Still - nice to see you still have a major chip on your shoulder and complex that you feel the need to keep bringing it up.
Pathetic.
