Thinking about fitting Eibach progressive lowering springs to my C32 AMG. I'm trying to improve the cornering ability a little but without compromising the great ride quality. Has anyone ever fitted these to something similar ie MB, BMW, Audi etc? Can I improve the cornering without sacrificing ride?
Cheers, Deep.

I have them fitted over Koni shocks in an A3 1.8T. Even on 18" rims the ride is superb. So is the handling.

Eibach make springs for most makes.

The good side is they are relatively cheap, and improve cornering without making the hard **really** crashy. However they DO make the car ride harder, and you would do better, if you have the cash to fit uprated dampers to standard springs for a first step, this will keep the comfort, and dramatically reduce roll.

Btw I have Eibach/Koni/LEDA combination on my Fiat Coupe.

Thumbs up

Had these on my E30 BMW / E36 BMW and my Nissan Z32 TT .
I still keep in contact with the guy who bought the E36 off me and the springs are still as tight as ever. They have not lost their springiness and the car still drives and corners good....
BTW.... that was almost 9 years ago !!!

Eibach & H&R are pos the best quaility springs on the market, I've had 'em on E36 BMW, coil sprung Porsche 911's ie 964,993,996 & various VW's

On all cars they work best with a set of quailty uprated dampers to cope ie Koni, Bilstein etc and Eibachs own are really good too. They work ok on quailty OE dampers if they are quite new i.e. on Porsche or BMW M's but IMHO you must change to an aftermarket damper on budget suspension i.e. VW's unless of course you are only doing it to lower the car so it looks better rather than for better handling.

Worst springs Ive ever had were in a kit from Bilstein. Great dampers but the springs were absolute $hite & sagged after only 6 months.

Have heard great reports from a guy with a Saab 9-3 HOT who fitted Eibachs all round - totally transformed the car by all accounts!

Nice choice Deep

I think any car would feel a bit wallowy compared to your Leda set-up, I know my WRX with Leda was harder riding than my STi.

Just relax in your uber barge and soak up the miles in a stress free enviroment.

I really cant wait to get the Legacy and dump the STi, leather, auto, no turbo... all the things I hated when I was 20.

I had Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs on my E36 M3 for a while before changing to H&R coilovers. Reduced body roll to an extent wilth slightly lower than stock ride height. However if you want to control body roll without losing ride comfort you should look at a well matched shock/spring/anti roll bar combo.

Hi, I had an AmD tweaked Audi A3 1.8T Sport and wanted a budget suspension option for it. Plumped for Eibach springs and its the most cost effective modification I've ever had done.

The crap handling was transformed, turn in was better (though steering still too slow but thank Audi for their dull witted rack), and ride remained excellent.
In fact changing from 16 inch to 17 inch wheels with lower profile tyres made more difference to the ride than the springs on their own did. You will feel a tiny bit more crash over bad pot holes but for the money its a highly impressive upgrade.
The one proviso if you have a car running OE dampers is that they are of a "sports" rating and new or in very good order, as they will be worked harder.
I pootled around the Nurburgring in mine and it was pretty decent, the standard car would have lurched all over the place.
