Yeah, would be a 200SX for me as well...
For that money I reckon you could get a VERY nice S13, and possibly an older S14!
Try www.sxoc.co.uk for more information...
Cheers,
Grant

200SX again.I got a P reg car with 42K on the clock with leather, air con and a clear HPI for 5 grand.
Subtle enough to leave anywhere and noone notices it at all.
And yes Sideways is on tap whenever you want it.
Get one, you wont regret it.

i'd plum for a late decent condition carlton gsi 24v./....comfy...large..drives like a hot hatch...205bhp and a top of 150...
you can't get a better car for your bucks even if it does handle like a hippo..
alternatively an e34 m5 is the ticket..superb handling...an exquisite 315 or 340 bhp engine and kudos a plenty.

Some alternatives
300ZX
AE86 Corolla
Jaguar XJS V12
Rover SD1
S12 Silvia
Old TVR (should be able to pick up a 280 or a 350 'wedge' for that sort of money)
Might be able to get a Westfield for that sort of money, or if not a Locost or maybe a Fisher Fury or a Sylva Striker

As has been suggested, a 200sx, Sapphire Cossie or if you don't like turbos an E36 325i (8bhp short of the 200 mark) or a 535i perhaps.
The 200sx/ Cosworth are probably cheaper to tune for big bhp though.

carlton 24v? CARLTON 24v? are you mad?
200sx
trueno(corrola,ae86)
mr2 turbo (its a bit like what you already have)
Cossie (to old and very few non thrashed 1s,and its a ford)
My choice 200sx s14,s14a or jap s13 with kouki lights.

If you look hard enough you will find a good cossie for the money be careful though.
The 200 sounds a good option though. Only thing i no about them though is they like reversing into my my old scoobs front bumper.
