Question

Maybe i should have posted in other marques but here goes.

Thinking of a co car or leaseing, what is/are the best motas tax/perforance/fuel economy/ %co/smiles per mile.

Could be Diesels like the
Golf 150PD TDI - performance looks ok for what it is but not sure how they handle or the VW ownership experience, maybe a Seat Leon equivilent???

Does not have to be Diesel, could be petrol - economy a consideration as planning to do 100 miles per day communting so. 35+mpg is what i am after

Civic Sport or Type R maybe???

any thoughts or suggestions gratefully received.

Oh and the Octavia RS is pretty good on the tax front, 192g/km and purchase price of £15k (its got all the goodies, climate, leather etc etc)

Dare I say it but BMW are very cheap these days if you lease.

Not saying I would have one but well worth looking at.

Since the Justy was discontinued, this seems like two mutually exclusive objectives

Seriously - diesel is possibly being to be the best tax-wise, and a "performance" diesel from the VW Group (but not VW itself) might be the cheapest purchase price. Is there a Skoda equivalent of the Golf 150TDi?

Have a look at the new Audi A3 2.0TDI. It has 140bhp with 236lbs of torque and averages 52mpg. Plus because it is Euro 4 compliant is not subject to the 3% tax surcharge on diesels. It also falls into the lowest tax bracket of 15%.

I've got one on order with the DSG gearbox and 18" alloys to replace my R32. Same level as torque as my R32 but will cut my fuel bills by nearly 2/3rds.

The diesel to have at the moment though is the RS Skoda Fabia. I gather there's a six month waiting list for those at the moment. Just a little too small for me though.
