I have a mate who needs to fit a starter motor to a Rover 220 Coupe Turbo. Unfortunately there are no Haynes manuals for this motor so he can't find out how easy/hard a job it is ?

Has anyone changed one of these on one of these motors and if so any advice, instructions would be greatly appreciated. He is not afraid to tackle tricky jobs but doesn't have the right gear to hand to drop gearboxes out or anything so drastic

Pointers as to what he he is looking at would also be helpful.

Sounds easy enough - is the 216 setup the same as a 220 Turbo ??

Can you give me some sort of idea what I am looking for - sorry to be vague but I gotta pass this info. on if you know what I mean

I don't think it is as easy as a 1600 cos that has a Honda lump, but it is still OK.

Go in from above, take out the airbox and all the boost pipes that are in the way.

Might need to move charcoal canister depending on where it is.

You will be better off posting on rovertech.net - they are a friendly bunch and will be able to help.
