mk2 granada 2.8 convert to diesel can this be done

can you put a diesel engine in 2.8 mk 2 granada would ther be any problems if so what would thay be also would it have to be a transit diesel what other ford diesels would fit did that do any v diesel regard chris

Never tried, but i'd imagine that it *could* possibly be done. I understand that most ford engines mount up to most ford gearboxes. The big difference would be in the differences in wiring loom from petrol and diesel engines (eg petrol having no glow plugs).
I'd say it's probably more trouble than it would be worth.

Should be possible but the gear ratio's and final drive would also need sorting due to the lower revving diesel needing taller gearing. The engine mounts will be different and also the position of power steering pumps, starter motor, alternator, manifold and exhaust etc.
By the time you sorted an engine, gearbox, wiring loom, diff, engine mounts and time or some what to do it the economics are not going to work out.
The cost of the conversion is probably going to be more than the cars worth and the cost of the conversion would buy a lot of petrol.
