Boaz Hawg WROTE:

>>I think a delight to drive is pushing it a bit far. <

Not really Boss Hogg man .... I find it a delight when I leave highly over-priced and over-rated cars behind from lights and both straights and twisties with a vehicle which can now be purchased with some loose change ... ... I am not exaggerating here ... the look on their faces ... priceless .... guess some people never really grow up (me and maybe you - don't tell me you've never indulged ...) and in my books, that's no crime .....

Worth repeating, if torque steer with reasonably powerful front wheel drive car is so bad then there's a very good chance that something or two aint right .... over the years, having owned four Montego, one Maestro and two T16 Rover turbos and driven others I do speak from personal experience... not simply quoting the experiences of other drivers.

Hey no, this is great!

A car both Scooby and Cossie owners can hate!

The really funny thing is that the plonker openly advertises the top speed, obviously being the speed he has seen on the clock himself, who in their right mind is going to buy a car that has been ragged, with countless drags against scoobs and cossies?

Could always report him to ebay for false advertising as 141mph is quite clearly not as fast as an Impreza or Cossie.

And get the auction removed

I agree with him 141mph is faster than an Impreza but not a Impreza Turbo *LOL* and I know for a fact that its not faster then a Escort Cosworth. What a Di**.

Have you been in one of these cars?

Thought not . They're quite rapid. It's really quite a good Q car.

obviously being the speed he has seen on the clock himself
Yeah, obviously. It's not like you could read the specs is it? You have to test it out . My 03 WRX wagon has a top speed of 143. I've obviously seen that then? (Clue: no)

Each to their own, lay off the guy. It'll be a nice car for someone and at 1500 quid it's a lot of car with good performance for the money

The guy obviously has little clue about Scooby\Cossie performance as a 620ti isn't in the same league. But I owned one for a couple of years, and they really are quite ok. 200bhp and a 0-60 of 7 secs used to surprise a lot of people ! Especially BMW's

They are quick, not as quick as an Impreza though. A lot of car for not much cash.

My friend had one. I dont think they are a bad car his was superchiped put out 248bhp. Saw it go off the clock 160mph. Not actually saying it was doing 160mph but it was quite rapid

They are quick motors. But have "slight" traction issue IIRC

OK not scoob or cossie terriotory, but if you spent a bit of cash on it...who knows

Obviously the owner must have beat a few cossies/scoobs off the lights. IN reality the Scoobs/Cossies he "raced" weren't really bothered and saved the fuel

I used to have one of these, quick (not Impreza quick) but very torquey and not much in the way of lag (compared to my Scoob).

Handled like a lard covered pig in a vat of chip oil though and anything other than bone dry conditions ensured wheelspin in 1st 2nd and 3rd.

my old man had two of these and I drove them regularly - they are good motors and really do shift - however you do have the issue of 200bhp going thru 2 wheels

I had the coupe turbo and was once blown away by an impreza. The handling was ****e and it had worse brakes than an oil tanker. It also leaked more oil than said tanker from every orifice! Not recommended. Having said that, it was quick in a stright line.

Couldnt resist 'aking the seller a question':

Think your ebay ad for your Rover 620Ti ought to be amended mate - theres no way on this earth that it will come close to impreza / escort cosworth performance let alone be an 'impreza eater'

200bhp - ooh thats such a lot (NOT!) and fwd presumably - would like to see you get 200bhp down quicker than a 4wd car does - no way hose!!!

I disagree scooby96 - although it's not an impreza beater it wouldn't be too far behind - and don't forget in 1994 200bhp was a lot. And for £1500quid it's cheap, fast metal.

Unless you've driven one and can tell me differently?
