Do you want something similar to an STi8, just not an STi8? What are your criteria?

agrre with the above, a 330 is far better car.

i test drove an FQ300 and once you get over the bland ability to go quick its a real one trick pony.....beemer offers more.

Fair enough...but if your into that, the bland-ness of going quick........its one of the best to do it in.

V8 ZT MG Saloon, 260 bhp, comes with Tartan Slippers and a Pipe

Or if you fancy something a bit younger image

Audi 3.0 Quattro 4dr shade under £26k

Two door Nissan 350Z

Supposed to be a really good drive, bet it holds its value too

Two door open S2000

Personally i'd go for something like this http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=270157.

BTW I have nothing to do with that car, just think it looks the dogs.

Cheers

330i Fantastic Car (from the beamer hater) the light burble the growl, the gear change, that awful image! I love them!
And there are some stunning prices on nearly new ones at BMW.co.uk!
Or A3, A4!

HI,

Depends what your looking for. If its simlar genre to STI8 then theres only two alternatives ; EV08 /Spec 'C' although you may have to dig a bit deeper for the FQ300. If not this genre more info required.

330d is a superb car.

Tiggs - Easy to say here, have you read any car mags lately?

Used Boxster (could get a well looked after 2.7 from a private sale)
Used 911's at this money would have big running costs
Used M5 or Merc E55 AMG
Ex demo S2000

etc etc

What are your crietia - eg doors, seats, use etc..

What about an old Golf diesel for the week and a Caterham R300 for the weekend?

I have to admit i cant find anything even remotely "bland" about my FQ300, but thats just my opinion.

The car it is a total lunatic mobile, and very exciting to drive.

Regular fuel stops/services are annoying, but well worth it...as the car is so amazing.

Evo all the way for me.

Also love scoobs, but just too many of them about for my liking.

Agree with you 100%, Ive a Evo 6 and its amazing.
Some mentioned earlier in this thread " EVO, bit of a one trick horse"
its actually two tricks, Lethal Performance & amazing handling...
now what else do you want from a top end high performance car..
like scoobs too, had 2, Evos better...and much less common.

Red face

The RX8 will be talked about alot in 2004 but not for its performance or looks but for the engine rebuild at 60,000 miles at a cost of 6000 grand.

nope, Dont find it dubious at all...I drive to work every day in it.......super, no probs at all.....the only problems with EVOs is expense and thats no problem at all. Great all rounder as far as im concernd, suits some, doesnt suit others......suits me down to the ground.

the Rx8 will be the most talked about car for all the right reasons.. it is simply the BARGAIN of the year. As for seals at 60,000 thats just speculation. I have had 5 Mazdas, my currant has 65000 miles, my previous Rx7 had 110000 miles on it. All my Rxs have ran brilliantly, and where original. Once youve driven a Rx theres no going back!.
