2nd hand M3?
#1
The missus is in the market for a new motor, short list now seems to be Merc CLK, 2 year old 2nd hand M3 or new 5 series.
anyone got any comments on buying a second hand m3? Bit concerned about wether it would have been ragged or not.
Regards,
Greg

100% make sure it has a BMW warranty and full BMW history. IMHO the convertible is not worth it, handling suffers and they rattle.
New 5 series has grown on me loads. I think they are fantastic now. Much, much better in the flesh.
M3 = lots of unwanted attention from people you don't want to attract
New 5 series = very nice
New CLK = very nice too but my oldmans just bought a new E class 270CDI Avantgarde (first Merc) and he's not impressed with the car or the dealers. Its been back already because the sat nav just did not work at all plus both seats in the front have been replaced as they were falling apart.

Hi Greg
My boss has just changed from 330Ci Sport Conv. to M3 SMG Conv. It is a fantastic car if you can afford to insure/service and fuel it. Would choose it over a CLK personally.
Most M3's are driven by hairdressers and have therefore never been ragged
