Not sure which is the bigger anus, the driver of the MR2 or the cameraman. "I've got the whole f**kin thing on video bro, oh my god, oh f**kin hell".

Good to see the MR2 living up to the French name for it.

I assume that Nova has all the stickers down the side of it, to hold it all together?

How on earth did the MR2 driver lose it? He was barely going over 20/30 mph and appeared to be going in a straight line. A little bit of corrective steering input might have been useful

Pity he didn't break off more of that gay bodykit on the Bora, especially those awfully distasteful wing mirrors.

Even if his accelerator stuck on it doesn't take a genius to knock the thing into neutral- at least thats what I did when I had my accelerator stick at about 5K revs in a Vectra.

Back in the early eighties I had a 3.0s Capri. One saturday afternoon when work had finished there was me, and a guy in a 4.2 jag left on the car park. It was obvious what was going to happen, and sure enough he gave it some wellie when he saw me. So thinking it would be very rude not to oblige, I booted the old girl. As we rounded a long left hander leading on to the main road, I thought **** he's going a bit fast to take that! He was! he went straight across a roundabout at full throttle and smacked a huge lamp post dead centre of the jag. The lamp was ripped out of the ground, and wedged itself under the car which carried on through a garden wall. Point of the tale is, when the plod got there it came to light that when he floored it, the throotle linkage went past it's stop and locked at full revs!!! How fast do you think he was going. 4.2 auto (kickdown)6000 rpm??????
This is a true story the guy now runs a chippy in Leyland. Don't you Bert????

Well I am the owner of that Nova. Gossy knows of me if u want to know what I am like although I aint seen him for a while.

Why? Originally built for rallying about 2 yrs ago but money fell through after non fault accident, someone rolled their car infront of me. Martini gaphics were chosen to attract attention to the car to gain further sponsorship deals.

The whole car was prepared by myself when I was 19 including spraying all the graphics, no they're not stickers, and all the external and internal modifications. Why knock someone elses hard work?

Money is now being spent on a 450bhp Jap Hillclimb/sprint machine.

Nad

P.S. U may have to spray ur common Scoobies like that if u ever want them to stand out from todays roads

Nad, car looks fine by me
Too many old gits on here that forget their roots quick enough once they get a scoob!!
I aint ashamed to say that i was a vauxhall astra nut as a youth, went through 4 models. spent thousands of pounds on them, mostly styling mods which were sh!te in a lot of peoples eyes. got a scoob now, but im not gonna be laughing at well presented Novas like yours.

No one said the work on the Nova was sh1te (expect maybe the crack about stickers holding the car together) but a Martini paint job on a Nova? It's wrong! It makes it looks as if you're trying to pretend you have a Lancia Delta as they're a similar shape (if you squint in the dark) therefore people will assume you're a ****, even if you're not. Nice spray job, but maybe a custom design would have attracted more attention from prospective sponsors?

All the work only cost about 3.5k incl wheels, tarmac suspension and body enhancements. Yes the idea was to make it like a Lancia Delta as this was the car that the Nova was originally styled like if u go looking thru the archives. The graphics are off 1992 Monte Carlo car.

If I was ever gonna get a Lancia it would be an Evo 2 and 3 yrs ago I didnt have 12k burning a whole in my pocket.

The thing u have got to remember is its a lot cheaper to rally a Nova than a Lancia, this was the initial plan anyway. TBH I dont care what people think off me, it gets me noticed and as they say bad publicity is better than no publicity.

L8rs

Nad

P.S. Yes the body is falling to bits, its got cracks and damage all over it but its because it get used instead of sitting around being polished.

There was a Corsa at the Boxhill meet also which had to have had the widest arches I've seen on one. I didn't look all that bad surprisingly.

This post from the vwvortex forum cracks me up:

"Stevenek
does the guy video taping say "another mr2 down the hole" and "he almost hit the type r"... yea almost! would have saved that NICE jetta! "

Do the two words NICE and jetta belong together in the same sentence - me thinks not!
