Question

While surfing links from this website I came across a Porsche I've never seen before. Any idea of the model?

I think it is one of the few Road Registered 962 Le Mans cars from a few years ago.

I don't think it's a 962 from a few years back because they were made by Baur under licence from Porsche and had green badges (and looked totally different - check out last months Evo for details). The headlights and indicators are from a 959 but no-ones going to cut one of those up as they're worth a quarter of a million quid. The wheels look a bit Halfords so I think some enterprising chappie has done a pseudo Le Mans job on a 1984 Capri and stuck on some Porsche badges.

I stand to be corrected.

Best guess is that it looks like it's an adapted 962 by Vern Schuppan(??). Not many on the road, and they don't look exactly like the picture above.

Stumped, of Oxfordshire.

I think you might be close Gina. Just found a photo of a Schuppan 962CR from here.

5 sold for a rumoured $2.5M and built in Japan which fits with it being on a Japanese website.

There's more here and the wheels match too. Thanks Gina.

it not a 962 dauer, just found that in a an old top gear mag(feb1994), similar, does'nt have the 959 front lights, or scoops in the side
