Anyone had one ?
Sliding Pillar Suspension, is it any good or cheap and nasty ?
Is a 2B (as opposed to earlier Robin Hoods which are heavy) very much heavier than a Westfield ?
Any info of any kind, not just don't do it, good points bad points.
One good point is they are much cheaper than Westies.

how much do they cost?
are they less than this:
Caterham Super Seven 2.0 HPC , Petrol, 1987 , BRG Aluminium, Cabriolet, 2 Doors. 12 months MOT, Twin 48 Webbers, Griffin Motorsport 212BHP Engine, F.I.A Roll Bar, Black Leather. For A Full List Of all Our Current Vehicles in Stock Please Click On Our dealer website button Below. Mobile 07768 894673 £11,995
I used to have a Westfield, but that was only because I couldn't afford a Caterham

Sliding pillar suspension is supposed to be absolutely awful. (And I've heard SVA testers say that they won't pass it)
I dislike using stainless steel as a chassis too - it's too prone to fatigue failure.
A friend has just built one, and is SVAing it this week. (He went for the mild steel chassis and the wishbone kit) It's cost him about £4k in total (I think), including a reasonable 150bhp pinto engine with twin 45s light seats, tools etc... I think his weighed in at about 650kgs...
It's not an easy build - it's easy to totally F it up, so don't buy a "partially done" one!
I'm waiting to see it finished (at last) and for my drive at the beginning of December.

Cheers Guys
Sorry for being late responding, I went and had a look at a Robin Hood, it was not for sale just someone local who has one, it was an early monocoque type(not 2B version).
It looked OK but I will not be buying a Robin Hood.
Thanks again
