Lotus Exige??
#2
Got an Exige and an Impreza and a TuscanS, so I get to compare them all the time.
In my opinion the Exige is in a different league to the other two. Just blows them away for fun, feedback, and handling.
Will never get bored with it. Also handles bumps far better than you'd think, better than the Tuscan.
Tuscan is way quicker in a straight line and so would be a Cerbera, but both are useless around the bends in comparison.
In isolation they are both great and much more of an event to drive than the Scoob.
Did a trackday at Donington recently and the Tuscan was faster than the Impreza would have been, but miles off the Exige's pace.
Impreza still makes them both look stupid if it's wet, or if you need to carry extra people.
You could probably get away with a Cerbera as an only car (if you are brave), there is huge luggage space and it is reasonably civilised.
The Exige has zero luggage space and is VERY VERY loud and tiring.
If it's a 2nd car then simple, get the Exige.

I think i'll start looking for a lotus then, and keep my VW camper for track days
Though it has to be said, seeing a VW Camper charging(?!) round the track would be a giggle!!

I used to have a super charged S1 111s Elise, which had adjustable Leda's all round and track spec. brakes. The engine was putting out about 220bhp so it was a very quick car!!
But, it really failed to excite me, I had an EVO V before and have a STI RA now. I find both the turbo'ed cars more exciting to drive and at Castle Coombe did a 1.25 in the EVO, 1.23 in the Elise and 1.21 is the RA.
The Exige is a slightly different beast, driven 1 ages ago and was slightly disappointed in the straight line speed and I couldn't live with the cabin heat and noise!
Dom.

If you are after a weekend/trackday only car then what about a Caterham R300? You can buy one to your own spec brand new for less than the Exige (the Toyota engined ones will be mid 30's I think).
