BP Ultimate Diesel in South Manchester ...
#1
Ultimate Diesel is confirmed as being available at the BP site on Stockport Road, Cheadle SK8 2AJ.
Off there later to tank up and trial it ... it's supposed to be 55-56 cetane and about 3p a litre more than the normal stuff.

From what I've read & heard, pretty much any modern turbodiesel should benefit from it.
Most UK diesel fuel has a cetane number of 51. The new BP stuff is rated at 56, which means it's easier to ignite.
They've had this stuff in Portugal for a while, and a couple of posters on the Seat Cupra forums have reported. They say as a minimum you get a quieter engine and less smoke, and most report a boost in pick-up & acceleration too.
There's a forecourt locator you can get at by going to bp.com and clicking the "Ultimate" banner.

Brickboy,
I think I mentioned this in another thread, but I've used "super" diesel in Germany in my 330d and it does make a difference to both pick-up and economy. The car felt much better. It was only about 50p a litre over there though! LOL
I'll try some when I get the chance.
