I am thinking of getting one for work, looking in the trader you can get some half decent motors for about 7K.
Any advice on which models/engines etc, I would go for a turbodiesel more than likelley.
My reckoning says 2 million greek taxi drivers can't be wrong, what kind of mileages can you start to expect problems, and generally what are parts costs like?
Cheers,
Mke.

A workmate here has a 1990 300E petrol auto estate. 285,000 miles
Owned it for 5 years, it's had an exhaust, some brake pads but nothing serious / expensive. Local garage services it, the consumable bits are not expensive apparently. Eurocarparts.com will give you an idea of prices.
Basically, they last forever. The mid-80s to mid-90s E Class are generally reckoned to be the best-engineered car ever built.
