ok, how come whenever anyone sells a 306 gti6, rallaye, integra, elan, 106 gti pretty much everyone sayas "best handling fwd car produced" or words to that effect.
Wilson & Needell are both ex Corrado owners. You have to experiance it to know. I've driven a 205, 306 & 106 and the Corrado wins hands down. It was designed by Karmann as the RWD next gen cheap (944 follow on) Porsche and modified for FWD by VW when Porsche dropped the idea and pursued the Boxster. There aren't many FWD cars that can pull off a 2.9 V6 24V with 190bhp without major suspension/chassis revision. I've seen Corrados running 3.2 twin supercharged with 450bhp+ without flinching. Go drive one and join an exclusive club of happy drivers. Also, recently described as the 18th coolest car ever by TopGear magazine.
i remember when i was 15 years old and didn't know what over/under was and and kept getting them mixed up. ever wish you hadn't replyed to a topic? a bit like the first time i went karting didn't know it was just a back brake. spin city.
J4CKO, Corrado is not a mk2 Golf chassis. Park them side by side and you'll see at least 7" lower roof line, 8" wider track and a shorter wheelbase. True, the C shares many interior components with the Golf, and it has the same 'box but with different ratios, the same engines tuned for in-gear acceleration and sprints rather than economy. Drive the 2 and if you are capable enough you will see the difference in no time. In 9 years behind the wheel, only Scoobs and a VX220T have ever thrown up a serious challenge through the twisties. On the straights, anyone can have a go, I just ain't interested.
