Toyota Starlet 1.3 turbo??
#2
Hey, I've got one of those...
Mine is a 1999 EP91 Toyota Starlet Glanza V. Catchy, huh?
It had 135bhp when it left the factory, but thanks to a few mods, mine now probably pushes out at least 150bhp. Suspension mods and Yoko tyres keep it on the road. Yes, traction is an issue.
It weighs less than a tonne, is amazing in really narrow twisty roads like there are in the local mountains (Hakone, if you're big on Japanese geography), and altogether drives like a bigger, turbocharged original Mini .
Very very funny car to drive. Definitely recommend them. I just need better front brakes, better lights and a little more power...
Oh, by the way, one of my mates bought an R33 GT-R today. I helped out by giving him a lift to the dealer and saying "buy it!" a lot, and he did!
Cheers,
Neil

Can be modded to be very good sprinters....so much so that one of the best rumbles I had was with a modded starlet...and I was drivin an m3 !!I left it 4 dead but it certainly did better than a lot of 'fast' cars.....

Turboman,
I'm guessing the "M3 faster than Starlet" story is not one you refer to often when asked how good your car is/was.
Talking of sprinting, I am entering a gymkhana with my car next month. Nothing to do with horses and girls called felicity or Millicent. It's the Japanese equivalent of an Autotest. My Japanese friend is entering with his new Scooby STi Type C Limited, so I'm not expecting to do really well. I'll let you know how it stacks up (or how I stack it)
