what would win in a race between me and my m8.
he has a standard auto Z28 Camaro, I have a stage 2 head, 1.7 SUs, Triumph 2000 gearbox j type o/d, electronic ignitioned GT6.
who yer think would win. ithink it would be even or him.
but he has lots of weight to power, i have 900kg car.

Get real, A Z28 does 0-60 in sub 6 seconds (5.7 I think), has a a V8 with at least 275 bhp (Later ones over 300), modern suspension and tyres (for a yank) and you are comparing it to a 1960's British 6 cylinder flyweight with about 100 bhp on skinny tyres. I would imagine that your would do 0-60 in about what 9/10 seconds standard and perhaps a second or so off that for the mods but by and large most classics dont seem to do 'fast' very well, was out in my brother in laws E type V12 at the weekend and it didnt feel all that quick considering its meant to be 280 bhp, dont think its that much quicker than my Golf GTI and cornering is like being in a boat but I suppose that isnt the point.

Yup, I'd agree with J4CKO all the way here. You may be able to catch him off guard and pull a way for a few moments, but you wouldnt stay ahead for too long.

hmmmmm, hes only running 205's, im on 180's. Mines putting down 130bhp. His 5ltr V8 putting down 275 with 1.6 tonnes is 170 bhp/tonne and mines 130 bhp with o.88 tonnes, thats 147 bhp/tonne.
