Model 350Z v Impreza WRX 22B Sti
Theoretical Top Speed 156 mph 150 mph
0-30 mph 2.01 s v 1.40 s
0-40 mph 3.18 s v 2.10 s
0-50 mph 4.23 s v 2.90 s
0-60 mph 5.38 s v 4.40 s
0-70 mph 7.33 s v 5.50 s
0-80 mph 9.01 s v 7.40 s
0-90 mph 11.49 s v 9.10 s
0-100 mph 13.94 s v 11.10 s
0-110 mph 16.97 s
0-120 mph 21.47 s
0-130 mph 26.56 s
0-140 mph 34.31 s
0-150 mph 53.08 s
No track times to offer which could offer a different perspective but in a simple straight line the 350Z is reasonably quick but nothing special and certainly no P1 'killa'. The 0-100 is a little indifferent, not crap but not amazing.
Edited to mention that the P1 is slightly quicker than a 22B but I could find the ingear times for that.

Nought to almost anything is going to be faster in a Scoob - that's what AWD is for (not to mention a Classic Scoob is quite a bit lighter). I'm getting a 350Z in (hopefully!) January to replace my STi 6 and I'm expecting (nay, demanding!) that the 350Z will be quicker on the roll, especially at motorway speeds.

But surely if you delimited an Audi RS4 or RS6 avant that would destroy 169mph..?
Ahh just checked that site.....you didnt mention it was in the 1600cc-2000cc class. I shall now eat humble pie..

Nissan have confirmed that this it what it'll do when derestricted from 155mph. Not that you'll ever do it but nice to know your up there in M3/Porsche territory and it won't just struggle to 155mph. Also does over 60mph in 2nd gear which is rather quick. This must be P1 performance atleast?

Doing over 60 in 2nd doesn't make it quick. It's how fast it gets there that determines that.
My mate's shagged rover 200 (1.4) did 70 in 2nd, it just took ages to get there.

Why are some people so bloody picky. As soon as i wrote that i thought some smart **** is going to write exactly what you just did, but then i'd had hoped that anyone who knew their cars would know i'm refering to a 276bhp 3.5 litre V6 which is obviously going to be shifting if it's doing over 60 in second gear, and so not make such a comment.

I think in the real world a 22B is quicker than a P1. More torque coming in at lower revs, more flexible engine and lighter weight.
Seem to remember Anders 22B with a scoobysport zort did a sub 4 second 0-60.

The 22B has a lower ratio box like a type R/RA so aceleration a P1 would be be behind. If final drive on a 22B is anything like my RA then its 20mph/1000rpm in 5th. So at 8000rpm thats 160mph.

The 22bType UK isn't as low geared as the imports though
So seeing as how its a bit of a pedantic thread, it would depend which one
Mag tests of a type UK didn't get below 5 to 60, and about 13 something to 100.

sorry guys, but as I have said before, the 22B has more torque and weighs less than the P1.
the non uk has lower gearing but still does 160, the higher geared one (4.11 final drive of the uk version) will do closer to 180.
I don't understand why people seem to think the P1 is the be all and end all of imprezas. As has been said on so many threads it just an sti 5 type r with sti 5 running gear. Ie. longer gearbox lame centre diff, lame steering rack etc etc.
its all marketing, which subaru are clearly great at.

Erm, are we forgetting that the FIA world record for a production estate car's top speed is held by Subaru?
Subaru Legacy GT-B: 169.1mph (270.532kph)

Rich (white Legacy GT-B, still restricted to 112mph )
