Cerbera - awesome
#1
Last weekend I went to a BBQ at a friend's place. A mate of hers, who I didn't know, was visiting with his TVR Cerbera 4.2. Anyway, knowing that I'm a petrolhead she asked in advance if he'd take me out for a spin in the TVR.
...and I thought my Impreza was quick. Damn, the Cerbera is just AWESOME. The noise was fantastic, the no-lag acceleration was impressive. Brakes were pretty good too.
A bit of holliganism, but most amusing when we exited a couple of roundabouts sideways! And the exhaust pops and bangs so much it sounds like you're being shot at.
Simply awesome. Shame I'd had a couple of beers. Otherwise I could have had a drive myself. Damned beers...

I think the straight-line drag race on one of Bumface Clarkson's car videos showed the pace of the ole Cerbera. It pi$$ed on a P911, Aston, Esprit, Viper and a couple of others.
I'm pretty sure the video is on the net as an MPEG somewhere... I'll try to dig out a link if anyone is interested.
I've been in the TVR Tuscan S from 0 - 130, and that was simply manic - like a firework on wheels!

They definitely are quick although the 4.2 is not the quickest. I pulled up next door to one last year at some lights on a dual carriageway, and upto the legal limit my RA was half a car length ahead. But he did have a touch of wheel spin at the start.

I didn't sit in the drivers seat. However, assuming that the drivers seating tunnel is fairly similar in length - there's plenty of space for tall'uns! Why, does the seat not move much? I wouldn't imagine the pedals are adjustable, are they?

I was at a trackday on Monday with my brother, i have a STI RA with about 330bhp so a very quick car, he has a 390bhp Tuscan Red Rose!
We were lapping similar times, the reason for this is on the main straight I was reaching about 105mph, he was hitting 130mph in the TVR....round the bends I made some time back!!!
Dom.

my old man has the 4.5 cerbera. lovely noise and the power is amazing. just a bit of a handful to drive in the wet.
still havent persuaded him to put me on the policy even though he is on my wrx.
do have a crafty go now and then though.
just a few more years saving and hopefully i can get one.

Yeah my old man has the Griffith and his mate a new tuscan s.
Fecking awesome cars, noise is superb!
My BF can't fit in it as he's 6ft 8 and it really winds him up coz my dad is always asking him if he wants to take it for a spin, knowing full well he can't!!!

I am 6'2 and tried a Cerbera at a Motor Show. Asked the representative why they are rather small inside when Peter Wheeler is so big? Answered with a gemtle face and some sort of shrug. Well it's not too small but on the small side nevertheless.

Which is the one to go for? 4.2 or 4.5? I hear there are less problems with the smaller engined TVR and that it's suprisingly quicker through the lower gears.
Keep thinking about one of these or an Evo 8 but the TVR is less to insure. Then you read the horror stories. Surely there not that bad are they?

Was Marshalling at Kames(Sprint track in Scotland) on Sunday. Was on the startline so had the pleasure of standing right beside a Cerbera(and other things, including bike engined single seaters and 2(yes 2!!!) Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS's) as it launched off the line.
