What do you reckon of the old-skool Lotus Elan? I've just read an article about it in this months Evo and they seem to love it! Could be tempted to buy one if the response on here is good?

Thumbs up

There was one out at the last KH trackday, it looked good and was going remarkably well, in fact I remarked on how well it was going.

Could be quite a usable classic car.

I love the look of them, anyone know what they handle like? I assume well as Sir Colin of Chapmanshire had a large part to play in this car?

As I am getting "mature", I will admit to having owned 3 Elan Sprints back in the mid to late 1970's.
Two of them I had the engines tuned (one by Agra Engineering) and one by Hugh Shannon- then well known for Rally car twin cam tuning). Both had about 160 bhp (in 700kg). Not only were they very quick in a straight line but definitely would outgun most of today's quicker cars cross country as the chassis was SO controllable and predictable. Only downside to them was attrocious build quality.
