I would have a 911 before either of them to be honest.

CLKs are standard Merc fare as I remember, well built, worthy but unless it`s an AMG fettled one a bit bland. A friend of mine had a CLK 230K for a while which was nasty, a CLK 320 is a better bet.

Personally, if the E46s that you`re looking at are 6 cylinder cars I`d go for the 3 Series.

Freak,

Try one, you may like it. The kompressor 230 engine is a little harsh for my liking. It goes OK but you always know when it`s working. I`ve not tried a 320 (V6) CLK but it`s probably a better bet. There are plenty around now that the new shape one is out.

Drive a BMW coupe (E36) at the mo

Thinking of changing cars- shortlisted are a couple of E46 BMW coupes, and recently been considering a CLK- circa 2000/1999 (not the current wierd headlamp uglier model)

Anyone know anything about them? Good? bad?

any gen appreciated

thanking u
