Well, its not the Scoob I have always desired, but I have to be a realist. Anyways, its a new Mini Cooper, ordered last Saturday and delivered hopefully third week in September once a few changes have been introduced. Very excited indeed. Chilli Red with black roof/mirrors, black/red half leather, 17s, sports suspension plus, spoiler, Chilli pack, air con, white lights, Harmon Kardon sound system, tints etc. Also get 5 years servicing for £100 which was a major selling point! Can't wait

Already planning a Hartge Cooper S in a years time

Anyone have any experience of the Mini?

you'll love it. I bought my wife a Cooper S the other week and have been driving it myself over the past few days. I've got an STi7 as my car but the Mini is very chuckable and handles very nicely indeed - need to turn off the ASC though.

Lucky sod! Chilli red with black roof, tints etc looks great. Make sure you get clear side repeaters and if possible the clear rear lights, transforms the car! Don't get the additional spotlight kit for the grille, they look crap!

If you're getting the "S" spoke 17s, have them painted black...looks amazing on your choice of colours.

I am having the clear/white lights all round. Not sure about painting the wheels though. I want to keep it as factory as possile to appeal to more people come resale time

Phil,

I had a Cooper. Green with white roof, Chili pack, 17's, a/c etc etc. Fantastic car. Only problem was the run flat tyres are so stiff that they affect the handling a little. Best bet is to change for some Toyos, Dunlops, Pirellis and carry a can of "instaflate" in the boot. The handling is sublime and they go OK too.

You'll love it. And you'll love the tlc package too.

Great car, but just wondering why you didn't go for a second hand scoob for the same price? Did you ever get round to a test drive and find the Mini a bit more fun?
Everything I've read about the Mini (in EVO) is really positive, so hope you enjoy your new car!

I would have loved a second hand scoob, but I am only 20 and simply couldn't afford the running costs, insurance, servicing etc. The Mini is terrific fun to drive even though its not too fast. Also, the low depreciation and 5yrs servicing for £100 means that it won't cost me a fortune in the long run. Still hoping to drive a Scoob one day but I want to be in a better financial positon first (Christ, I sound like my dad!). Thanks for the comments, its nice to hear. The positive stuff in EVO was a big factor in my decision aswell as I hold their opinions in the highest esteem.

BTW My wheels will be standard silver.

I don't plan on using more than 1yrs servicing It'll be a nice point though when I come to sell.
