Just a quick question for someone.
my mate has £5k to buy a car his thinking of a 306xsi or a Focus zetec. What do you think?
Needs 4 or more doors.

Call me biased, but the Focus is an excellent car even in 1.4 guise (although obviously not very quick). The problem is that it only came out in 1998 and has, amazingly, held its value quite well compared to other Ford models.

The cheap cars will probably be very high mileage, although that might not be too much of a problem on a modern engine I suppose.
