this months evo mag. Blip or bling or something, apparently straight line performance is awersome however the chassis is an old one and it was lacking throught the twisties. They recon that they need to upgrade/replace/update the old suspension! It destroyed a VX220 Turbo

It was actually called Blink Motorsport Ltd and had association with BookaTrack.com. It was using the latest generation VTEC from the Civic Type-R, so 197Bhp and 145lbft at a pricey £9995 for the conversion.

I test drove the blink car and it was quick, even though the old suspension was crap :-) . The engine is the 2 litre also, not the 1.8.

There are currently a couple of places doing the full kit, Joe McCarthy (who provided the kit to Blink) makes the kit in the states http://www.prototyperacing.com

There is also a very good thread on seloc (www.seloc.org) as Ian Wilson is currently fitting the kit / engine to his Elise. Apparently it will have around 270bhp ... nice. Makes good reading

Ian took me round Folembray a few weeks back in the dealers type R which he borrowed and it was certainly quick, but running less power than Ian's will.

Costs a lot though ... no change from £10k ...

I am also looking at doing this conversion, Blink wont sell the engine mounts/manifold sperately, Joe will but it aint cheap, i think the parts alone are circa 5k! Seems a lot for a couple of engine mounts and a manifold!

I dont know how much work would go into the engine mounts, would need to get a chassis, lifter and engine and have a good look then get a good machine shop to fabricate something, assuming they lined up more or less the same.....

Simon that link you put up dont work, do you have the full address as always looking for more info.

Cheers

Jabba are in talks with a company that makes light weight track day cars to supply them with 1.8T'S with their 350 bhp kit on

aparently the guy drove Jabba ibiza test car and was blown away by how quick it was and wanted the engine for his cars....

If you cut and paste the links they work .. or at least they do for me ....

The manifold is an absolute work of art !

I believe Bernard Scouse has developed a kit and has in fact fitted the 1.8T engine in his Elise - hopefully that'll be an option soon too
