SBD claim 256bhp and 160lbft from a NA tuned vauxhall 1.6. This to me is mighty impressive. Can any other tuners/modifiers match this?

Is that a reliable, useable amount of bhp?
Or just a peak amount?

250bhp with 150lb/ft... Sounds like it'll be a **** drive, with 250bhp you need about 200lb/ft IMHO or it will just need to be thrashed to get the best from it...
Still an impressive figure from a NA 1.6 Vauxhall Engine!!
Cheers,
Grant

Peak, then?
Not driveable without a thrash.

Admittedly the peak BHP is achieved a something like 10,000rpm, but isn't 100lb/ft per litre NA impressive?

That's 160 BHP per litre, right? That's about the same as a standard Yamaha R1

Steve @ SBD isn't one to bullsh*t about power figures unlike other tuners, just have a look at his customer list Vauxhall themselves for one. He is just in the process of doing a 1600 Hayabusa engine for us hoing to top that figure!!!

Yeah, it'd have to be one light Nova to take advantage of that engine!

Yeah but taking a standard Corsa 109bhp engine and wringing over 250bhp out of it without using forced induction.
Comparison to bike engines is cheating

Exactly.
A big bhp engine with no torque in a car doesn't work.

Standard F360 is about 120bhp/litre ish i think?
Ditto Honda S2K.

An F1 CAR has 300ish bhp/litre. That's not bad is it!
