Puma Passenger Airbags
#1
The wife has a puma with passenger airbag which we are going to need deactivating for a baby seat.
I understand ford won't do it, is it possible to deactivate an airbag and does anyone know where it can be done?
I'm in the midlands.
Any comments appreciated

You could unplug it - the thing can't fire without getting an electric current through the terminals.
The problem is that the airbag light on the car will flash because the system will detect a fault. This can usually be overcome by connecting a resistor across the terminals of the unplugged connector to fool the control module into thinking the bag's still connected.
As for the exact resistance required and whether it works on this car I don't know, best to get someone who knows what they're doing to have a look at it.
