I've not voted yet and will wait 'till I've seen all the cars.
So far the Landy has it. It's classless, does everything you ask of it. Doesn't pretend in any way whatsover, has no pretensions. Made a difference to many peoples lives, sells well in just about every country in the world, everyone know's what it is, most are still going etc. etc.

Am I the only one that thinks the 'E type' is butt ugly? I can see how it was considered cool in it's day but there are far better looking classics, that don't look nearly so awkward.

I dunno - personally I was very surprised by both the Fiat 500 and the Citroen when they were put forward.
I don't think the Quattro was innovative enough to be the best car of all time (that isn't to knock it, though). Similarly the Macca F1 just isn't unique enough to cut it - especially since it's probably not that fastest road car ever any more.
I think I'm with the DS just now; James May even got me wanting one of the bl00dy things last night!

Of the list my tops would be -
Citroen DS & Audi Quattro...
The DS probably better fits the bill as the 'Greatest Car', but for a quick blast around and as something that moved the affordable performance car on the quattro is excellent!
Landie IMO is a great at its purpose, but unless you want to be off road then any of the others are probably better. Fiat 500 was well packaged, the Mustang is good for an American car!! Taxi - the case wasn't compelling, and from talking to taxi drivers lots would rather be in regular cars. The Etype was a good value/looking performance car not the greatest car ever though. The F1 was probably the best ever full on super car, should that qualify it as the greatest ever car? Not for me it doesn't, and If I had that sort of money I probably wouldn't bother with one, though I do like the idea of a central driving position.

The Landrover should win - I dont like the look of them, and the very old ones drive like crap, but they have done so much for the world that they are the greatest. War, peace, fun, sport, life, they have covered every aspect and should win.
Like the Audi, but all it ever did was win rallies.

They should have an original Mini in there.
Whose bright idea was it to leave it out? I know the Fiat 500 is similar-ish, but how many British drivers can really relate to that?
My vote to the Mini, even though it's not on the list!

Landy in the lead - sorry but the Wilys Jeep got there first
The jeep was built for the US military. Land Rovers were built for civilians, farmers etc.
My vote is the landy - I still see old series II and III's being used by local farmers. It did it's job, and it did it well.
The proof of how good it was is that the basic design elements used in the old series landies are still used in the current Defenders. Or the manufacturer can't be arsed to develop it

The Audi will be on this weeks show for any one that is interested. Oh and the bald bloke from star trek,Jk also was on the phone after the bird beat his fastest lap time he wants to come back and do it again.

Citroen DS what a car, believe it or not I have always wanted one
What about the Mclaren?, not a real piece of history but a car people dreamed of owning. A car manucatured by a F1 team how about that.
Not including renault, ferrari, merc etc they all now make road cars and use F1 for publicity, Mclaren does / did not need to do that.
