Pug 205 advert translation

Scooby Senior
Went to look at a Pug 205 gti on Saturday here is the advert:
1992 PEUGEOT 205 1.9 GTi 3dr Hatchback
In Miami Blue (best colour) non cat model. Unmarked half leather interior maintained regardless of cost, absolutley superb inside and out. A rare unmodified example EW FFSR FPSH new MOT. Will be sad to see it leave. 78000 miles. £2800 .
Which roughly translates to:
1992 PEUGEOT 205 1.9 GTi 3dr Hatchback
In Miami Blue (best colour) non cat model. Unmarked half leather interior ( exept for the drivers seat which is badly ripped at the rear) maintained regardless of cost ( exept for all the wheels were kerbed and pitted, both spotlight were smashed, wouldnt start at all) absolutley superb inside and out (er no!). A rare unmodified example (with a KnN induction kit???) EW FFSR FPSH (up until the last owner who got his mate to do it and he didnt even know where the bonnet catch was) new MOT. Will be sad to see it leave.(I very much doubt it as you have a Fiat coupe in the drive) 78000 miles. £2800 . (not worth £800)
Why do people advertise like this? 2 hour drive to get there and its a load of rubbish.
Peed of is not the word, is there any decent cars left out there?

There are good ones about, just a bit of patience Are you signed up on http://forum.205gtidrivers.com as you'll probably find some good examples advertised on there. I think you need to post a few posts though before you can see the for sale section........

Unfortunately you get muppetts who descibe cars like that in adverts.
Been caught out that way myself, drove from Edinburgh to Newcastle once to look at a Clio 16v, described as mint, but when i got there, it had a huge dent in the rear quarter..seats were marked etc..
Dont know why people arn't just 100% honest when selling.

It was myself who drove Doc down to look at this car and it was a joke.
Having owned one of these, i have a little experience but i dont think it was need just by looking at it.
I cant believe how much these cars sell for,i sold my f-reg 1.9 for £2800 10 years ago

WOW Bought the 205 GTi 1.6 last night from an old couple in Warrington
33k and it is absolutely MINT! I`d go far as saying its about two underbody polishes from concourse, what a find.
Just goes to show if you look around there are nice cars out there, 13 years old and it looks and drives like is one year old.
Happy chappy Doc

Well done Doc, sounds great so get some pics up.
Was going to say, if you keep you're eye on the Autotrader website, and watch the cars week in, week out you can spot the none sellers (i.e. must be a reason why).
That £2800 one has been on the AT site for 2 months - presume it is the one parked on the sloping drive, pointing down from right to left?

Dream, Yes thats the one blue pointing down the drive, looks good from the picture but alas its crap lol I had my suspitions when it went back up for sale after two weeks.
To me If your selling a car you would have it washed, polished and warmed up hours before a buyer comes along this one was dirty and hadnt been started for weeks?!?!
As for MINE no problem I paid £2800 and proud of it I knocked him down due to the original exhaust from new blowing from the centre section, if that wasnt the case he would never have budge under £2900, he had an idea he had something special and new he would get the money for it.
Funnily enough it had been sold to someone the first day it was advertised luckily for me the person buying was refused a loan due to him being in his new job only 3 months, fate it has to be
I`ll get some piccies up when it stops bloody raining! To give you an idea of the condition its still on its original tyres and the spare hasnt been unwrapped! lol I`m still gobsmacked now, slightly "different" to my old McRAE but I was smiling all the way home driving the Pug

Another convert .
Seems to be a bit of a trend occuring here, whereby drivers are shunning newer, heavier, duller and heavily depreciating modern day motors and going back to basics by buying good examples of the older classics, stuffing new car snobbishness, not having to think about depreciation and banking the rest of the cash. It applies to me anyway.
Enjoy it. You will.

Agree with Olly
My life is so much better now I have got rid of my £400 per month running costs of the MR2, and have a 205 XS outside worth £500
Have much more money to spend on clothes, games, gadgets etc etc.
Just need to find a mint 205 GTi in the next year and I will be happy - 1.9 only for me though

Hopefully mine will be getting the Mi16 lump in, so need the tougher suspension, bigger wheels etc.
Besides, when I used to drive my 1.6 GTi I always felt a bit small when a 1.9 came along, like the inferior sibling or something, or that I was "making do"
Similar to how Impreza Sport drivers must feel when mixing it with the Turbo drivers

I`ll take some tonight seems its fine out, it`s got the dirt on it that accumulated when I drove home through the ****ty weather the other night bringing her home, unless I can give it a quick bath
Got a phone call from the previous owner last night asking if I got home OK and I`m happy with it! Cant fault him.
