After about 14 months I should finally be getting my Charade GTti back on the road. It won't be totally finsdhed but at least I'll be able to drive the damn thing.
On Saturday fitting the follwing, new suspension on the front, Apex springs all round, new exhaust and braided brake hoses.
Over tyhe next few weeks getting the drivers door and rear offside arch sorted out.
Future tweaks will be relief valve, home made induction kit, rally downpipe with seperate wastegate pipe.
Have a Unichip sitting here and that will go on during the autum with a afr meter and egt sensor in conjunction with an FCD and upped boost. Hoping to get around 170bhp in a car weighing about 800kilos so its going to be very rapid !
A mate of mine races his in the Toyo Tyres series against much bigger cars like Civic Type Rs, Volvo T5Rs etc and his car with 144bhp eats them. Its going to be nice dealing with torque steer again !
See you on track !

OK one go for about 1K really good ones for about 2K. Relibaility. Engines are very strong but tend to blow due to people, turnig up the boost too high. Headgaskets tend to go but overall reliability is quite good as the engine is massively over engineered like the Fiat Twin Cam.

Yesh only 14 months eh Rob. Got it going today but now the seals on the turbo look to be going. Pretty quick too.
Got new brake caliper and disc, Apex spring and new front structs. New paddle clutch fitted and found to old clutch was the wrong one but brand new !
Just got to fit the rear springs , backbox and finish off the body.
Turning up the boost tomorrow and then looking at a hybrid turbo unless I can get the RHB5 for a Mazda 323 which bolts straight on.
Rob we'll have to meet up soon so I can make you laugh with the Charade !
Brians racing at Snetterton in a few weeks, want to come along ?
