Thumbs up

My mate has a lot of mods on his VTi but the best has to be his Top Fuel induction kit...sounds awesome, try Option Motorsport.

OK if show floats your boat more than go, then why post asking for engine mods, seems pointless if you have a car that handles like an Ikea trolley

point taken...got a litlle distracted...what kind of cold air induction kit would you suggest?
so i lose the 18's..stock wheels or compromise and put on 17's?
i was thinking of purchasing a VTEC controller..but as with the norm..i suppose i better sort out the breathing first..and the sound from the engine bay!

cheers chaps

I remember reading something on a DC Carbon Cold Air Kit, it was fairly expensive but the gain were well worth it...

I cant remember where I read the review, but I'm sure that some people on here will be able to give you some contacts.

I wouldnt go back to the stock 15" alloys, maybe stick on a set of black/anthracite finished 17" wheels, maybe a motorsport inspired wheel like an O.Z Chrono or Superleggera, meant to weigh a fair bit less thank normal 17's so wont sacrifice too much on acceleration, etc... Also means that you can still go for the monster brake conversion which you wouldnt be able to fit behind your stock rims!!

Cheers,
Grant

munna- engine wise the biggest gains from experience is the exhaust with the manifold and an aem induction kit into the front o/s wing.........but make sure you constuct a shield to stop the crap from spraying onto the filter........well to minimise it use and old type fairy liquid bottle and modify it.......you get the idea,
i used the old coat hangers and stereo brackets to hold it but there are other more secure methods. Basically you cover the botom half of the cone.

i used civic type-r cams which has the same profile as the integra-r cams but has longer duration .....you certainly noticed the increase but don't expect too much.

I also used superchips to increase the redline to 8700 rpm although the 8500rpm was the max i took it to.
My only regret was using the spoon sports ventuli plate, it seems to de-crease top end power with a slight increase in the mid's.

All in all i managed 178bhp at the fly wheel which is ok i guess, i modded this about 6 years ago when the selection of tunning/ styling products was nowhere near as it is now, with out going abroad...that is..........i do drive it now and again and still love the roar of the vtec.

I thought about buying another civic vti to play with but my other half says i'll be wasting my money.......she'd rather me spend money on her polo 16v..........WTF !!!
