I went from Bridgestone SO2's to Eagel F1's GSD3's and i was unimpressed, sidewall has far to much flex in compared with the Bridgestones. THe F1's are up for renewal in a few hundred miles and i'm switching to Toyo Proxies, after hearing good things.
The shortlist for the ATR are
Eagele F1's GSD 3
Yokohama AVS
Toyo Proxies T1-s
Bridgestone SO3
Bridgestone RE10 (oem tyre)
Don't even consider Pirelli's on the ATR as are consider bad karma
Oh I run 225/45 17 on a 99 ATR

I really rate the old Goodyears F1's GSd2's (i think) but of course they have discontinued them. Toyo Proxies are my next choice, as good if not better than the F'1s in the dry and nearly as good in the wet.
The goodyears given a wet non-greasy surface could be pushed as hard as in the dry, they where outstanding!
Shop around, last time i got a price for Toyo's for a Scoob on 16's thay where £ 70.00 (ish) each incl.
Other
Bridgestones 010s - Tramlined and where average, not good or bad
094's i have on my Civic VTI are pants and i cannot wait 'till they wear out, will fit Toyos next
Pirelli's PZero's, drive a couple of cars with them, i did not like them, grip in the wet left a lot to be desired Pirelli trade on their name IMHO. P700 & 600 are OK
Michelins, good but expensive
Contis - wear well!
All IMHO of course

Just Made a call to a supplier who advertises on here who quoted £ 94.99 each incl fitting, VAT, valve and balance, you could be paying over the odds.
All the best

re changing both tyres
The newer/better tyre will give better grip (hopefully) and is a different pattern/performance/properties. On a high performance car i would change both and keep the good old tyre as a spare or the start of a track day set or such. I alway change mine in pairs if i can afford to, with a Scoob you should due to the 4wd system, even al four but you can usually gwet away with two.

Goodyear F1's GSD3 £110
Pirelle P6000 105
Dunlop SP2000 140
Mitchelen Pilot Sport 150
All the above are in stock and I am a bit desperate or I can visit air pumps and wait for the same tyres at £123

You ever driven a car in the wet with pirelli rubber - bad karma!!!
Heehee jokes aside mate, just because i personally didn't like them on the front of my car, doesn't mean you won't on yours, it's all subjective.
Unfortuantly there doesn't appear to be a general "tyre of choice" now that the SO2 is no longer in production.

got a pair of Potenzas the weird thing is that I got the new ones on the fron and the old on the back, the car does feel slightly unstable when making high speed turns, i mean more than before. I checked the air pressures and they are spot on. I have notticed that only on of the new tyres has got weigths on the rim, I did check after fitting. I suppose there is a chance that the tyre could go on the rim and be balanced perfectly..Oh well i may have to put the old back on the front if thay caryying on feeling weird
