Had a quick search on Google but can't really find much.

Anyone know whether you can get decent headlight upgrades for a Ford Focus?

Car's a T reg 1.6LX; was wondering if the new HID-type are an easy upgrade if we find a scrapper?

Any help/pointers appreciated.

I think Ford offered upgraded lights? You can deffo get twin headlights that claim to be better, try searching for Morrette

Ford do the proper Xenon ellipsoid lamps as an option, assuming you have around £800 sitting in your back pocket................

Hmm - found a couple of websites showing the Morettes - not bad, and 'only' around the £300 mark.

Where's that piggy bank?

Check the car has the Mk2 wiring. If it does then fitting the HID lamps (which are made by Hella) doesn't appear to be too difficult. I believe they're around £700 though, so it's quite an expensive mod for some brighter lights - well, okay, MUCH MUCH brighter lights!

The hard work is fitting the self levelling kit and washer system. Both are required by law in the UK, although that doesn't mean you need to fit them! Come MOT time, swap the lights back for the old units and you'll be okay.
