Hopefully someone can shed some light. I have installed a 2nd hand 5 speed gearbox into my fiesta runabout. The donor car did not have any problems so know its a good un. All installed and working however it appears fuel economy has suffered. During install both driveshafts were removed and bottom wishbone assembly, could it be that it has altered geometry to an extent that fuel economy is suffering or any other ideas?

Fuel economy hurt in a fiasco? whats it down to? 50mpg? On a more useful note, maybe the new gearbox had different gear ratios?

Well the whole reason for the fiesta is for its economy, rather take that out for a 10 mile trip than the scooby. Gear ratios are definatley different as it is now 5 speed! Will have to keep an eye on it. A journey that would previously not have shown any decline on the fuel needle now causes a drop!
