VAG PD owners -- cheap & interesting mod for more power
#1
Click here for details of a cheap (less than £5) power mod for VAG PD motors.
It's still being trialled but early results are promising ... it's a mod to the fuel temperature sensor which signals the ECU to deliver extra fuel.

Gave up waiting for the link to happen to be honest, but if all this does is add more and more fuel, while you can do this in a diesel to extract more power, you'll surely end up with over-fuelling which equals black smoke and possibly confused sensors ?
Would you risk it on your car ?

It'll be interesting to see findings from the testing, still early stages as yet. Done carefully, fuelling should still be within spec without being excessive ....
From the information in the link, the fuel temp sensor compensates for the fuel density (cold weather = denser fuel, so ECU adjusts fuelling downward).
The mod uses a resistor or pot to replace the temp sensor output, simulating higher fuel temps (i.e. less dense fuel, so the ECU raises fuelling).
