I have a diesel one as a hire car at the moment. It is quite nice really, big old boot and plenty of space in the rear. Adequately coped with 4 big lads and all the bags going away for a weekend to Southport !!!
Comfortable to drive and the diesel is very economical.

Also thinking of 307 sw
Due to test drive next weekend - seems v roomy and looks ok for a family vehicle.
The only other estate that is worth a look is the Mazda 6 estate - motorpoint are doing these for 14.4-15.0 depending on petrol or diesel - top sepc model too the TS2

I still have mine (dont ask its a long story). I have to say the driving position is very good and its a very comfortable car. The only niggle is that the indicators dont cancel so i have driven doen roads for a couple of miles still indicating before i realised !!
