Right then.... usual scoobynet posting that I put in on a yearly basis or so it seems..

I may have to buy a new house this yr, get married next yr, but still can justify (I hope!) a new car as I am a sad admitted pistonhead and car lover, hence the girly understands the need...let's see what you lot recommend as a new car through your vast experience in ownership/test driving...

History is MGB, Elise, EspritV8, P1, Ferrari, then a 'sensible' golf 'cos of the vandal dramas.., so looking for something reasonably cheap in the world of fun cars ie <25k and don't really care for anything other than the pleasure of driving and ownership so petrol, maintenance, insurance is not an issue, but sonething in your face and an obvious target for jealous types/vandals is not what I want... I enjoy the odd track day but hate paying for tyres/pads etc so that probably narrows it down even more...

I'd love an S202 but may be killed by my better half for lack of taste in the looks department as it is allowed but is shot down cos it has to look a bit pretty. Doh!! So what then!!? I reckon an S2000 (love soft-tops), 993, boxster3.2, mitsi7 or a track day thing ie caterham/westie/etc.

Just a post to see what you lot enjoy the most (80%road, 20% track) and why....

Cheers

i don't think a soft top is the way to go with the above statement.

Heard a VX220 is a nice car but I know no more than that.

Question

im bias, but a westy or caterham for me

Big throbbing v8 with nice comfy seats, so the misses will like it Sunday drives in the sun shine, and you can open it up on your own and scare your self to death

If you went down the Boxster route, you're not going to lose much/any if you decide you're bored of it and change it.

Good cars too
