as my work mile muncher I have a 306 xsi that has done 50k miles from new. it is in for its service today and needs new brakes all round £300. ouch. This is the 3rd set of brakes being fitted because the previous 2 sets have both warped and worn out. the first set lasted about 15k miles and were replaced under warranty.

is 35k miles about right for a complete set of brakes in a luke warm hatch ??. The 2nd set had warped after 15k miles again but not completely worn until now.

Is it worth trying some none Peugeot brakes buying some from a specialist non performance ones are bendix or guttman, buying just the parts is £90 compared to £300 for ones from the dealer.

Dont want to spend £400 + on red dots or ebc as I only use the car for commuting I have my scoob for the weekends.

cheers

I did over 100,000 miles in my xsi - not a bad car but brakes were a real weak spot.
must have replaced rear calipers about 3 times - terrible for seizing - and yes fronts were constantly warped.
I would try Peugeot Ecosse for upgraded discs & pads. Never used them myself but heard good things.
